Welcome to East and Southeast Asian Scotland (ESA Scotland)

Founded in 2020, East and Southeast Asian Scotland (ESA Scotland) is a non- profit community interest collective dedicated to supporting and empowering East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) communities across Scotland and the wider UK. Our mission is to create inclusive, equitable spaces for individuals from ESEA backgrounds, particularly those facing barriers related to migration, social justice, and systemic discrimination.

Need Expert Advice on how to work with East and Southeast Asian Communities?

We do not currently offer direct front-facing support services. However, if you're looking to build stronger, more culturally competent ways of working with East and Southeast Asian communities in Scotland, we’re here to help. We offer consultation services and cultural competency training designed to support professionals, institutions and organisations to carry out their work more effectively and create lasting impact.

Most East and Southeast Asian (ESA) people identify with cultures and ethnicities coming from Brunei, Cambodia, China, East Timor, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea (North and South), Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam.
